We are now accepting registrations for the fall session. Please email terri@cleftonestudios.com or call 301.424.4359 for a registration brochure.
Classes are made up of 6-12 children and their adult caregivers. All classes are for mixed age family groups. (Why mixed ages? Read the FAQs to find out.)
Each week we explore the songs and chants in the semester's song collection. A dozen musical experiences are included in each class, which incorporate fun, playful, and interactive ways to focus on tonal and rhythmic elements of music. Instruction is informal; children may or may not participate as they choose and do so according to their developmental level.
The teacher helps adults understand how to participate, regardless of their musical ability, and the importance of relaxing and enjoying the activities with their children. Parent education during class will help parents understand the relevance of class activities to each child's musical development.
Fall, winter, and spring sessions consist of once-weekly classes, forty-five minutes each, for ten weeks. Tuition is $190 for one child and $110 for siblings. Siblings 8 months or younger attend free. The price includes 2 professionally produced CDs, a corresponding illustrated songbook, and parent education materials and events.
