Classes in Rockville, Kentlands, Potomac, and Poolesville

Summer registration is open!

Since we can't meet in person this summer, we're bringing our beloved music program right to your living room, featuring the same high quality, research-based curriculum as always.

Each week for 7 weeks, we'll provide three 15+ minute video classes and one Facebook Live or Zoom class - plus our songbook and music collection, printables, parent education moments, special guest appearances, and more!

The upcoming Kazoo collection features the Music Together classic "Me, You, and We," plus favorites like "See the Pony Galloping" and the Spanish folksong "Tingalayo." We'll have fun dramatizing the nursery rhyme "Old King Cole" and singing about your favorite foods in "Apples and Cherries." In addition to the classes, your tuition includes a beautifully illustrated songbook, CD and digital music downloads, a family newsletter with more at-home music-making ideas, and online access to the songs through the Hello Everybody app.

As always, grownups are indispensable to our musical time together. Small children are not expected to focus on the screen; they are welcome to move around the room, get another toy, or dance while we're sitting. As long as the grownups are engaged in making music, the children are learning by their role model.

Join us and fill your family's summer with music, fun and friendship! To find out more, please email terri@cleftonestudios.com or call 301.424.4359.

Have you ever wondered what you can do to nurture the musical growth of your child, regardless of your own musical ability?

ClefTone Studios offers Music Together®, an internationally recognized early childhood music program for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and the adults who love them. First offered to the public in 1987, we pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement.

Music Together classes are based on the recognition that all children are musical. All children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate with confidence in the music of our culture, provided that their early environment supports such learning. By emphasizing actual music experiences rather than concepts about music, Music Together introduces children to the pleasures of making music instead of passively receiving it from recordings or TV.

Parent/caregiver participation is an essential (and delightful) component of this program. Music Together gives you the opportunity to fully participate in class with your child as we explore what music sounds like, looks like, and feels like. Music Together encourages you to bring music into your family's daily life and gives you lots of fun ideas on how to do so. Together, we will encourage musical exploration and nurture your child's musical development in a safe, creative environment.

Children in Music Together mixed-age classes participate at their own level and when they are ready: there is no performance pressure whatsoever. Children are not required to sit still; rather, they are encouraged to respond spontaneously to the musical environment. We use singing, movement, rhythmic chants, instruments, and lots of other ways to express ourselves musically.

And here's the best part: the adults have as much fun as the children!
